I am a newcomer to the production of wine. I have been growing fruits and vegetables at home, for about 30 years, but never made wine. Working full time and not having ideal conditions at home in regards to space and environment slowed my desire to make wine until this time. I am now retired and with some modest changes to my working space I am going to give it a try.
Country wine recipes are not based on Grape fermentations but typically involve fruits, flowers and vegetables that are not commonly found in wines. For example Dandelions, Lilacs, Parsnips, Rhubarb, Rosehips, and others. Methods I will be using are based on small batches with methods that typically can be done at home with a modest requirement for equipment. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences as I discover the best methods of production.
I have a education in Applied Microbiology including some courses in fermentations which I plan to use to my advantage in the development and design of country wine recipes. This substack will only be offered to paid subscribers. A subscription will give you the opportunity to obtain unique recipes and methods I develop as well as to ask questions about your own experiences at home wine making.
Thanks for your consideration.
