One of the most important tasks is to plan your garden well ahead of planting time. This is especially true if you are starting your own plants from seed indoors. You need to know how much total space you have, and how much for each specific vegetable. I try not to grow the same type of vegetable in the same area in back to back growing seasons. This is referred to as crop rotation.
I have one raised bed designated for Cruciferous vegetables this year (for the first time). Plant spacing is about 18” between plants and rows. Middle row of plants is staggered to minimize shading. Leaving a little space for some dill at both ends. Bed is measured and marked for planting.
The re-bar was used for a Cucumber trellis last year, and were pounded in so deep that I can’t get them out now.
May 30 update on cruciferous bed.
